Pokémon Destined Rivals arrives in store, along with a bunch of new model kits from Bandai and Yolopark. Plus the new Chaos Knights are up for preorder, too!
Welcome to Laughing Orcs Workshop’s inaugural Painting Competition! The Competition runs until 28th June 2025, when the winners will be announced. Entries must be received before 5:30pm on Thursday 26th June to be eligible!
In order to enter, you need to bring your model to the store by close of business onFRIDAY 4TH JULY
The winners will be announced on SATURDAY 5TH JULY
The competition will be judged by myself in conjunction with Empire Miniature Painting Studio. Judges decisions will be based on the quality of the overall paintwork, creativity, workmanship, and presentation.
Models must be fully painted (by the competitor) and appropriately based. Conversions, 3D printed models and parts are all acceptable (but not required!). See below for full rules.
Each Category has multiple prizes available – there’s a prize pool worth over £150 on offer, including miniatures, model kits, paint sets and more!Â

Includes single miniatures, Units and Warbands of any scale from any fantasy or historical setting, including (but not limited to!) Warhammer, Kings of War, Elder Scrolls, Moonstone, Pike & Shotte, Hail Ceasar, etc)

Any scale vehicle or model kit, including Warhammer 40,000 tanks and Knights as well as scale model military, science fiction, commercial kits, and mecha or Gunpla kits.
Its just a bunch of preorders this week, but what preorders they are!Â
Chaos reigns over the 40k world as the World Eaters and Death Guard see new codexes and Combat Patrols, whilst over in fantasy land the Soulblight Gravelords shamble forth with a collection of gorgeous new Undead minis going up for preorder.
It’s all a bit Chaotic this week as the Emperor’s Children arrive in store, and preorders are open for new Death Guard and World Eaters releases from Games Workshop.
There’s also the new edition of Catan, some more Battletech minis, and a restock of the excellent Lord of the Rings: Duel for Middle Earth, too.
A plethora of new paints courtesy of Pro Acryl, and expanded range of hobby tools – oh, and there’s the small matter of the imminent arrival of Fulgrim and the Emperor’s Children Chaos Space Marines for 40k – its a busy week in the Workshop!
New fireteams and expansions for Halo: Flashpoint dominate this weeks new releases, but don’t forget the standalone releases of two new Kill Teams, the Wrecka Krew and Ratlings.
The big new Preorder is, of course, the Soulblight Gravelords Deathrattle army set – which has a ton of gorgeous new skellywag models to bolster your undead horde with!
The Death Korps of Krieg get their first wave of reinforcements, Codex: Astra Militarum arrives, and we’ve got the new John Blanche paint sets in store too. Plus we’ve restocked on Pokemon cards, hooray!
Also up for preorder are the limited edition models from the Black Library celebration – you won’t want to miss them!
The Gloomspite Gitz ride out in style, we’ve got an expanded range of Combat Patrol and Spearhead box sets for anyone looking to start up a new army, and we’re now stocking Gunpla – mecha model kits – as well…
The new Aeldari are now in store, and we’re now stocking the Aliens board game. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also got reinforcements for the Astra Militarum up for preorder!
